What you need to have done.

1. Blog upto date
2. Using then questions sheet, you need to look at two music magazines front covers and contents pages. Then blog about them.
3. You also need to have your pitch for your music magazine ready. With market research. REMEMBER alot of the theories we looked at last year for newspapers can and should be applied to your production. You should be ready to talk about these in relation to your work!

NO EXCUSES FOR NOT BEING UPTO DATE AND PREPARED!!!

How to access SKY DRIVE

On the left you should see the individual folders with the link to your photos.

Follow the link or copy and paste.

Preliminary Task

Produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in a medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead.  Additionally, candidates must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page. 

 

On your blogs;

 

Discuss ideas for how to present the following:

lwho is the target audience?

limages (content of images, size, shots)

llanguage

lcontent – include audience expectations

lhow would you attract the target audience?

lformat – placement and size of images and text

liconography

lhouse style – logo, colour

Prospectus work.

If you are upto date with your blogs, that is, you have everything posted, especially your St. Mark's prospectus. You need to prepare the contents page of the prospectus. You MUST keep upto date on your blogs. Otherwise we can't move on, so come on folks!

It's better to regret something you did do than something you didn't!

Remember you should, no MUST! be blogging everything you do as proof. It is a good habit to be getting into for your own production pieces.

Use the relevant terminology.

Image analysis, composition of photo, manipulation of image/text, use of text, assigning meaning, preferred meaning, and any other factors you think affects the design of the text given to you.

It is vital that you keep on top of this as it is difficult to do retrospectively.
